Wiki folder show up as Page
Folders are not meant to be same as pages. They don't have any content. They only link multiple pages or other folders in it
![]()

Required Solution
The folder should be a collection instead. Or maybe even a type?

A “folder” in a wiki is just a way to organize things without any functionality. And I agree—if you can’t do anything with it, it shouldn’t be displayed as a page!
As for what it should be, I’m really torn on this one! At the very least, it shouldn’t be visible in the library.
Spoiler: I’m on Team “File Tree” 😁.
I’d like a folder to literally be a page, so we can create a wiki tree structure.
So when you click on a folder, it displays a page listing all the pages that “folder” contains—ideally with customizable formatting.
Voilà—an overview in my folder with the pages themselves listed below in a nice layout (categories, lists, visuals).
If it were a collection, it could offer features like properties, but let’s imagine two nested collections in my example above: my article would end up with properties to fill out that are only relevant to the parent, right?
My other concern is ending up with hundreds of collections—and thus a huge mess—for a purpose that’s unclear in my use case. Collections corresponding to WIKI folders, collections corresponding to “organization,” collections corresponding to layers of properties, collections corresponding to tags.
If this is going to happen, we really need to improve the display (configure which “types” of collections we want to see?), navigation, etc.
I also though it as a page that lists files first. But I considered these...
1. The collection has a queryable layout which suits it more.
2. If its a collection. then a page could easily be added into a folder from the editor. (/folder-name, *this option seem to be disabled for the moment maybe for the Logseq like behavior)
And now when I see your points, I also agree, just hiding it is also good.
I was not thinking straight while creating the FR, I suppose 😥 Sorry for the disappointment
On the contrary, there are topics where we naturally tend to focus solely on its use—it's good to be able to discuss them!
It's marked as “done”; we'll find out what's been done in the next release.
😁🤞
