Search by "key combination" in Keyboard shortcut

What could be better?

The keyboard shortcuts list is very large. There are times when we want to search where some key combination is being used. And if it is set or not. In that case currently we have to find it manually.

How so?

Allow the search option in the keyboard shortcuts panel to also search with key combinations.

Workflow

I want to find where CMD + W is being used

  1. I go to keyboard shortcuts panel
  2. Click on search/filter bar.
  3. Type "CMD+W"

Expected:

Combinations which use CMD + W at top

Thanks for the suggestion — searching keyboard shortcuts by key combo is a real gap when you're trying to find or audit what's bound where.

Quick clarification: when you search CMD+W, should it match exact combinations only (so CMD+W finds CMD+W but not CMD+W+Shift), or also partial matches (e.g., CMD+W finds anything that includes that sequence)? And do you expect the search to work on unbound combos too — i.e., if you type a combo that isn't currently assigned to anything, should it say "not in use" vs. returning no results?

That'll help us scope what "search by combo" actually solves for you.
