Let users re-enter recovery key

What could be better?

I guess it makes sense to ask users to enter their recovery key to make sure they really saved it during setup, as newbie users often skip such a step which leads to data loss, if they are not used to such locally encrypted apps.

Thanks for the suggestion — this is a smart safeguard for new users. A couple of questions to help us scope it:

  1. When should this check happen? Right after they generate the recovery key during setup, or at some later point (like first login after setup, or before they can access sensitive data)?
  2. What should happen if they enter it wrong? Just let them retry, or show them the key again with a "save this first" prompt?
  3. Have you seen this pattern in other encrypted apps, or is there a specific workflow you're thinking of?
