Nightly
Any Desktop v0.0.8-nightly.20260917.2
New
- A "Help improve Any" switch in Settings › Preferences shares feature-use and reliability counts by default. Turning it off stops new usage analytics from being stored or sent and deletes this device's analytics ID.
- A Relation property can be limited to specific collections (property editor → Limit to); the picker then offers only objects from those collections.
- Use Any collection to remove a relation limit, or Undo and Redo to reverse changes to it. Existing values are kept even when they fall outside a new limit.
- Copy link is now available in a collection's right-click menu.
- An object-link card pasted into a page in a different space shows the tooltip "Object exists in a different space".
- Drag a collection chip under a page's title onto another chip to change the order; the order is saved with the page and shows the same on all your devices and for everyone in the space.
- Move left and Move right in a collection chip's right-click menu.
- Active Tasks groups now have a + button that appears on hover for adding an item in place.
- Inbox, Today, Upcoming and Someday end with a New task row that stays at the bottom of long lists.
- Add two-, three- or four-column layouts from the document slash menu by typing /col.
- Drag document blocks into or out of columns using their block handles.
- Column layouts can be copied and pasted in Any.
- Arrow keys follow document order through columns. Backspace and Delete at column edges move the cursor without merging column content.
- Backspace in a column's only empty paragraph removes the column. When one remains, its blocks return to the normal document layout.
- Empty columns show an "Empty column" prompt.
- Creating a task opens a card in place with the group's values prefilled. Enter saves it and opens the next card; Escape or clicking outside closes it and saves a titled draft. Upcoming asks for a day first.
- In Tasks, Cmd+N on macOS creates a task below the focused or last selected task, using its group's values.
- Drag a task onto another group to give it that day or area.
- The Tasks sidebar counts Inbox and Today, with a red badge for what is due.
- Project task lists end with a New task row. Empty areas offer New project, and the Projects group's + opens a New project card.
- If a new task fails to save, its draft stays in place with a Retry option.
Improved
- To-do checkboxes in documents have a thinner outline and a tick that matches the rest of the app.
- The Devices item in Settings now has its own devices icon.
- "Upload from computer" in the chat attach menu now shows a computer icon.
- Connector keys now show their status directly below the field.
- Guidance beside a built-in connector's key now describes where the key may be sent only when a restriction is declared. Other key notes can still appear.
- Built-in connectors now list allowed hosts, or state that no restriction is declared, in the Connection card under Advanced.
- Expanded task cards have refreshed spacing around the title, toolbar and notes.
- Project counters in Tasks now show the remaining number without "left". Screen readers still announce that it is the number left.
- Updated the area icon in Tasks.
- Updated the notes icon shown beside tasks that contain notes.
- Change icon, Remove icon and Rename have moved out of a collection's right-click menu. Use the open collection's header to rename it or change or remove its icon.
- The collection icon in a collection header now highlights on hover and stays highlighted while its icon picker is open.
- Dragging collection chips previews their new order. Press Escape to cancel a drag.
- If a collection-chip reorder fails or times out, an error message identifies the page, even after you close it.
- Collection-chip reordering includes screen-reader announcements and respects reduced-motion settings.
- Embed preview pictures that can load now show a Play icon. Clicking anywhere on the picture loads the embed.
- While an embed preview is loading, its space is reserved to reduce text movement and shows "Getting preview…" after a second. If no picture arrives, the reserved space disappears.
- Tasks lists are grouped — Upcoming by day, then by range and month; Anytime by area; areas into Projects, Tasks and Logged items.
- Tasks search now sits in the header corner. Cmd+F focuses it on macOS, and Escape clears the search.
- Task rows show plan and deadline icons alongside the parent's icon, and deadlines turn red on their due date.
- Task page headers now scroll away with the list.
- Task checkboxes have a refreshed shape.
- App sidebar headers, including Wiki, Journal, Tasks and Collections, now use slightly smaller titles.
- Plan, Deadline and Project pickers open against their button's right edge and keep the button highlighted while open.
- Task rows have refreshed icon spacing, and expanded notes start on one line and grow as you type.
- Release notes now identify the bundled agent alongside the app and bundled server.
Fixed
- Connectors lists a connector under Connected once its key or connection is set — built-in ones included — and everything else under Library.
- Stopped spurious error reports when desktop network activity finishes or is cancelled.
- Tasks no longer shifts the task list away from the page title when the panel is hidden on a wide window.
- Clicking empty space below the last block within the editor now displays the text cursor at the end, where typing already worked.
- Copy and Download in Settings → Login key now work without revealing the key first.
- On macOS, the app no longer silently cancels file downloads, including login-key backups and editor file links.
- Disabled Login key actions no longer highlight on hover.
- A table column fitted to a short first row no longer stays that narrow — reopening the table fits it to the rows again, up to its default width.
- A fitted Name column no longer cuts the name when the row's open / rename button appears on hover.
- On the desktop app's "Something went wrong" screen, dragging an empty area moves the window again.
- Clicking a callout's icon opens the icon picker again, so an icon can be changed after the callout has text.
- Copying blocks that include an object-link card or a divider now pastes into another object instead of pasting nothing.
- The text cursor stays one line tall after block conversions, including turning wrapped text into a heading or changing heading levels.
- YouTube and Figma preview pictures that cannot load on desktop no longer look clickable.
- Spotify embed artwork is no longer cropped to a thin strip.
- Members who can only read a space no longer see Add to collection or Remove from collection on a page's collection chips.
- Collection-chip Move left and Move right commands are also hidden for read-only members.
- Switching Wiki tabs now restores each tab's own page-list selection instead of carrying selection over from another tab.
- Empty tabs and tabs switched to another space no longer inherit another tab's page-list selection.
- Clicking blank page space below the document editor, including bottom padding and side margins, now focuses the editor and places the cursor at its end.
- Dragging from blank space below a page's editor now starts block selection.
- On pages with stacked editor sections, clicking blank space directly below the final editor section now places the cursor in that section.
- Copy and Cut keyboard shortcuts now work on blocks selected with the six-dot handle while the block menu is open.
- Cutting selected whole blocks now preserves list markers, checkbox states and formatting when pasted into another app, just like copying them.
- Cutting a selected list item that has indented items under it now removes them instead of doing nothing.
- Cutting a synced original as part of a whole-block selection now puts its original content on the clipboard rather than a reference to the removed block.
- Cutting selected text now preserves list markers, checkbox states and formatting when pasted into another app, just like copying it.
- Cutting text in a document with a table now has its own Undo step.
- Cutting a text selection that includes a synced original now puts its original content on the clipboard rather than a reference to the removed block.
- The right-click menu in Favorites opens again, restoring access to Rename and Move.
