Any Desktop v0.1.0

New

  • Launch a second desktop instance with a separate data folder to use another account without changing your main account or its preferences.
  • Use Wipe chat history in Settings → Agent → Debug to clear Bao's messages and turn history without restarting. Memory, schedules, credentials, Soul and diagnostic traces remain.
  • Load supported external embeds directly in desktop documents, and unload them when finished. Figma remains a source card.
  • Add, change or remove pictures for contacts and ordinary objects using the file chooser.
  • Wrap or unwrap any table column, including Name and system properties. Rows fit their tallest wrapped cell, even when that column is outside the visible area.
  • Reorder the Collections sidebar by dragging or using keyboard-accessible Move up and Move down actions. Each space remembers its order on this device.
  • Supported macOS trackpads provide haptic feedback when you change preference switches or select another top tab.
  • Scrolling floating menus and pickers provides haptic feedback while the list moves, but not at a stationary boundary.
  • Drag reorders provide guidance and confirmation feedback on macOS. Cancelled or unchanged drops stay quiet.
  • Add or remove a space from Favorites directly from its sidebar menu.
  • Mini-app rows in the space sidebar (Wiki, Chat, Collections, Contacts, Journal, Meetings, pinned objects) can now be reordered by dragging, or via keyboard-accessible Move up / Move down actions.
  • Click the divider beside the navigation panel or a list column to close it, and click it again to bring it back — it returns at the width you left it.
  • Press Enter or Space on a focused navigation or list-column divider to hide or restore its panel.
  • Organize tasks, projects and areas in the Tasks mini-app, with Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Anytime, Someday and Logbook lists.
  • Capture tasks with notes and mark them complete.
  • Select several tasks and move them together between lists, projects and areas by dragging.
  • Reorder tasks by dragging or with Alt+Up and Alt+Down, and reorder projects in the sidebar.
  • Log out in Settings ends the session without deleting that account's local data or saved recovery phrase. Accounts with saved keys remain available in the account picker.
  • Redeem an invite code in Settings → Account by pasting it or submitting with Enter.
  • View your saved login key as a QR code in Settings → Login key. Mobile sign-in by scanning is not yet supported.
  • Paste a link from YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, Loom, Miro, CodePen, Figma, Whimsical, Sketchfab or Bilibili on an empty line and choose whether to embed it or keep it as a link.
  • Newly inserted embeds show the content's title and preview picture when the provider supplies them. Existing embeds are not updated automatically.
  • Toggle the sidebar with Command-backslash on macOS or Ctrl-backslash on Linux. The shortcut can be reassigned.
  • Journal creates a day's entry when you start writing and removes it to the Archive when you erase everything, instead of the "Write an entry" button.
  • Saved Journal entries offer Favorites, Copy link, Copy Markdown and Delete in their header; unwritten days do not show these actions.
  • The Bookmarks preview lets you save and edit links, browse Inbox and Recent, and archive references for later.
  • Create and reorder purposes, Areas, Projects and tags. Organize one bookmark or a selected group by dragging or using the Organize menu; Areas and Projects are shared with Tasks.
  • Read saved bookmark text, open the original source, and open matching bookmarks from global Search or Favorites.
  • Find related bookmarks through shared tags and assignments.
  • Create a person or an organisation straight from the Contacts + menu, with an optional role picked from its submenu.
  • Add a role to an existing contact from the + next to its collections.
  • Co-founder role for people.
  • Hiding an app from space settings can be undone from the toast.
  • Space settings shows collection object counts and lets you pin or unpin collection shortcuts for this device.
  • The + button for an app not yet installed shows an “Add to space” hint.
  • Apps in the sidebar show a "…" button on hover that opens the same menu as a right-click.
  • Apps in the sidebar can be added to Favorites and opened in a new tab from their menu.
  • Settings ▸ Agent ▸ Devices lists the devices that run Bao, which one answers chat, and lets you move Bao to this device with one click.
  • When Bao's device has been unreachable for a minute (or you just signed in on a new device while another still holds Bao), the app asks whether to answer chat here — it never switches on its own.
  • Click Bao's status-bar indicator to open Devices settings.
  • Settings ▸ Debug ▸ Divider tuning, a switch that shows a panel of sliders for the line that lights up on pane dividers, so you can tune it and share the values.
  • Direct chats have sidebar menus for Favorites, settings, Archive, deletion and opening in a new tab.
  • Either participant can add, hide or reorder apps in a direct chat and pin collection shortcuts. The peer's name and icon stay read-only, and no Invite action is offered.
  • Help improve Any in Settings → Preferences controls usage analytics on this device. It is on by default and reports feature use and whether actions succeed.
  • Use Limit to in a Relation property's editor to choose one or more collections. Its value picker narrows to those collections; Any collection removes the limit.
  • An object-link card pasted into a page in a different space shows the tooltip "Object exists in a different space".
  • Drag a collection chip under a page's title onto another chip to change the order; the order is saved with the page and shows the same on all your devices and for everyone in the space.
  • Move left and Move right in a collection chip's right-click menu.
  • Active Tasks groups have a + for adding a task there. Inbox, Today, Upcoming and Someday end with a New task row that stays at the bottom of long lists.
  • Create two-, three- or four-column sections from the /col slash menu.
  • Drag blocks into and out of document columns.
  • Copy and paste complete column layouts, preserving their contents.
  • Creating a task opens a card right where it will land; Enter adds the next one, Esc closes.
  • Cmd+N in Tasks creates a task under the selected one.
  • Drag a task onto another group to give it that day or area.
  • The Tasks sidebar counts Inbox and Today, with a red badge for what is due.
  • Projects end with a New task row, and an empty area offers New project.
  • Ask Bao to stop an ongoing Gmail history sync. Starting it again with the same search resumes from saved progress, while stale scheduled sync steps stay stopped.
  • Bao can report how many emails were skipped and the reasons for recent failures.
  • Retry skipped emails without scanning the whole mailbox again. Successful retries leave the skipped list, and messages no longer in Gmail are removed from it.
  • Bao can test selected tool actions using recorded or supplied responses. Actions outside the simulation still run normally.
  • Bao can move objects to Archive and restore them.

Improved

  • Launching the same separate instance again focuses its existing window. App links continue to open in the main instance.
  • Selected options in dropdown menus have larger checkmarks that match the rest of the app.
  • Clearing Bao's history requires confirmation and is unavailable while Bao is working.
  • Archive uses a refreshed box icon consistently in navigation and its page header.
  • The sidebar can now shrink to 240 px, leaving more of the window for your content.
  • Button labels, menu headings and keyboard shortcuts use more consistent text sizes and spacing.
  • Save and sync status labels are larger and easier to read.
  • Table empty-state hints and error messages use consistent text sizing.
  • Technical Information, sharing notices and member cards have more consistent supporting text, with larger small labels.
  • Editor loading errors, unsupported-format messages and orphaned-row hints use consistent text sizing.
  • App error screens and minimum-window-width notices use the app's standard text sizes.
  • Mini-app headers have consistent title, icon and control spacing.
  • Content headers place the member indicator beside the breadcrumb, with clearer spacing around Favorites and More options.
  • Member indicators have a rounded hover treatment and more consistent label and avatar spacing.
  • Shared header buttons provide keyboard focus feedback and consistent disabled states.
  • Panel, tab, new-tab and invite-copy controls use quieter icon colors. Search and New object are aligned more consistently in the workspace header.
  • Saved pictures appear in profiles, headers, collection and Wiki rows, Favorites and existing pinned navigation, and remain after reopening or reloading.
  • Unavailable pictures fall back to an initial or icon. Read-only members cannot edit pictures, and removing a picture does not delete its attached file.
  • Editor menus, table handles, code controls and synced blocks use filled icons consistent with the rest of the app.
  • Contacts, organisations and members show colored initial avatars in link and mention pickers. Their colors match elsewhere in the app, and member colors remain stable after renaming.
  • Editor menus use the same selection checkmark as the rest of the app.
  • The chat composer's emoji button uses refreshed artwork.
  • Chat bookmarks without a working site icon show a bookmark symbol instead of a globe.
  • An empty search box no longer starts a search.
  • Select and Tags values use compact multiline labels when wrapped.
  • Column resizing and auto-fit account for headings. Wrapped columns keep a readable minimum width.
  • Each saved view remembers wrapping and widths on this device, with Undo and Redo for display changes.
  • Name columns start at 240 px in collection tables and My views. Saved custom widths are unchanged.
  • Mention suggestions have more consistent padding, rounded corners and borders.
  • Filter editors use consistent popup widths and spacing.
  • Update notifications have consistent padding, with more breathing space around download progress.
  • Add property, Add to collection, select, tags, relation and object-creation pickers use consistent rounded corners and tighter spacing.
  • Option editing and add-option popups are narrower and more compact.
  • Journal's previous-day, Today and next-day controls have consistent spacing and quieter label and hover colors.
  • Reordering keeps the open collection and Side peek unchanged. Default selection and the fallback after deletion follow your saved order.
  • Existing hover hints across the app and editor appear sooner and match your theme.
  • Favorites hints appear below the header, while editor toolbar hints appear above the selection rather than covering it.
  • Disabled menu actions expose their explanations both on hover and to screen readers.
  • Dialog and form actions use compact 36 px pill buttons with consistent label and icon spacing.
  • Dialog action buttons have clearer hover and disabled states.
  • Destructive dialog actions use an outlined button with a red label instead of a solid red fill.
  • Code-language pickers have consistent search-field spacing and backgrounds.
  • Synced-block destination and More menus have more consistent padding, row gaps and dividers.
  • Small buttons have consistent spacing around labels and icons, including Search, sharing and space-app controls.
  • Bao's welcome screen has a clearer heading and larger supporting text.
  • Bao setup instructions wrap naturally to the provider choices, with more space below Continue.
  • Unfilled buttons use a quieter, consistent label and icon color across themes.
  • Agent diagnostic attachments use a new storage location. Older attachments are not moved automatically.
  • A space's right-click and “…” menus offer the same actions with consistent styling.
  • Hover reveals the Open arrow only on the selected collection chip. Keyboard focus still reveals it on every chip.
  • Desktop build changelogs are prepared for review as part of each release.
  • Menu actions use consistent icons and text colors, including Delete and Clear rather than red menu rows.
  • Where available in row menus, Open in new tab appears last, after a divider, with its own tab icon.
  • Object header menus contain Copy link, Copy Markdown and Delete. Close and Pin to sidebar have been removed; objects can no longer be newly pinned from this menu.
  • Collection header menus no longer include Close.
  • Chat header menus offer Mark all as read and Copy link.
  • Mini-app order is shared across the space rather than saved only on this device.
  • Sidebar rows move smoothly during reordering and respect reduced-motion preferences. Crossing gaps no longer makes neighboring rows jump back, and outside drops cancel.
  • Wiki, Collections, Contacts, Skills, Mail and Meetings now open with a narrower list column, leaving more of the window for what you opened.
  • Navigation and list-column dividers use neutral colors on hover and drag; other panel dividers can still use the accent color.
  • Journal and Meetings use shared built-in definitions across clients and Bao rather than creating competing setups.
  • Meetings lists and details read meeting objects consistently, including their dates and properties.
  • Bao automatically retries failed startup attempts.
  • Bao's chat and welcome screen explain when it is waiting to start or retrying after a startup failure.
  • The desktop app signs you in automatically on launch when your recovery phrase is saved on this device.
  • The first launch after the sign-in update requires signing in once. Choose a saved account, or enter its recovery phrase if no key is saved, including on Linux without a keychain service.
  • The sign-in update registers this installation with a new device identity once, so other devices may show an additional device entry.
  • Code redemption reports accepted and already-redeemed outcomes, prevents duplicate submissions and keeps your code after an error so you can retry.
  • Settings → Technical Information shows which configuration the app actually uses, rather than guessing its network.
  • The journal's date navigator in the page header no longer shows a vertical divider after the next-day arrow.
  • Settings → Account shows invite-code redemption as a single "Redeem a code" row with the submit arrow inside the field, and clearer one-line status messages.
  • Redemption progress and results replace the helper text in place, avoiding layout shifts. The row stacks on narrow settings panels.
  • Page titles, collection chips, properties and body text have more consistent spacing. Pages without properties no longer leave an extra gap below the title.
  • Space chat headers show the member count before up to three overlapping avatars, without rings between them.
  • The QR code and word grid reveal or hide together. A concealed QR code does not contain your login key.
  • Embed preview pictures are saved as files in the space and sync with it, rather than loading from the provider whenever another reader opens the document.
  • More icon-only controls show hover hints naming their actions, including your configured keyboard shortcuts where available.
  • "Add existing object to Wiki" adds several objects in one go — tick rows and the list stays open.
  • Objects already in the Wiki stay in the list, checked, and can be unchecked to take them out.
  • Each object shows its collection, and searching by collection name finds its objects.
  • With a page open inside a folder, new additions go into that folder, and the popover says where.
  • Add to Wiki from Collections keeps an object's existing visible folder; otherwise, it places the object at the top level without revealing hidden parent folders.
  • Adding an object elsewhere in Wiki changes its shared placement. Moving it requires editing permission and is visible to other space members.
  • Journal matches the new design — a full-width calendar, one-line Recent rows with Today and Yesterday, and the open day's weekday shown above its name.
  • If the same day was already written elsewhere, your draft text is appended to that entry.
  • The cursor stays in place when a Journal draft becomes a saved entry.
  • Journal day names use short dates such as “14 May”, adding the year only outside the current year.
  • Shared calendars use a quieter month caption without an unnecessary keyboard focus stop, plus updated day markers.
  • Bookmark sidebar order is saved per space on this device. Favorites can open bookmarks from a space that is not already open, including in background tabs.
  • The divider between panes lights up as a soft neon line under the pointer when you hover or drag it, follows the pointer, and bends round the content card's corners.
  • The second contact kind is called Organisation everywhere.
  • Add to collection has more consistent search, row and icon spacing. Contacts show a Roles group above Collections.
  • Edit space opens a full settings page, where you rename the space, change its icon and add or hide apps for everyone.
  • New space creates the space right away and opens its settings page, with Wiki and Collections already on.
  • The space archive moved from its sidebar row to Open archive in the space menu.
  • Adding CRM also adds Contacts when needed, with an option to undo both additions.
  • Space settings explains when apps are still syncing or you lack editing permission. Collection pin controls remain available.
  • Click an installed app's tile to open it. Newly added apps briefly highlight in the sidebar, and Tasks uses an updated icon.
  • Crash reports use a random device identifier instead of your account identity.
  • Existing device-only mutes transfer to your account without replacing notification choices already saved elsewhere. Unmuting restores the space default.
  • Filled Wiki drop targets also follow the nested row's indent.
  • Searchable menus for collections, properties, filters, sorts, options, relations, currencies, code languages and object links share a maximum height of up to 480 px, fitting smaller windows.
  • Scrollable picker lists reach the popup's bottom edge and fade at either end when more rows remain.
  • New property popups have more space around their search field.
  • Space settings has a smaller title, tighter app tiles, compact three-column collection shortcuts and outlined selected chips.
  • The space menu's Edit item is now called Space settings.
  • The space menu places Space settings before Invite and Delete Space in its own group. Open in new tab is removed from this menu; the modified-click shortcut on the space name remains.
  • Sidebar Move up and Move down actions use clearer arrow icons, and popup dividers have consistent spacing.
  • Slower automatic sign-ins show a simple loading indicator instead of the sign-in artwork, with a minimum display time to avoid flashing.
  • Divider tuning stays enabled after reload. Disabling it from Settings or the panel closes it and clears its tuned values.
  • When you first open a table view on a device, columns you haven't sized manually shrink to fit their contents, up to their default widths. Custom widths remain unchanged.
  • Automatic column fitting waits for linked names and number displays to load, leaves empty columns alone and adds no Undo step.
  • Tasks pages share a consistent header with inline renaming and project descriptions. Page actions are available from the content header's “…” menu.
  • Task breadcrumbs show the open page and its parent area. Areas and projects have a Favorites star.
  • Click a selected task again to open it, without needing a double-click.
  • Task date and project pickers have clearer menu layouts, mark the current project and recognize Inbox.
  • Task notes expand with their text instead of requiring a manual resize handle.
  • Task dates recognize Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, with full dates available in hover hints.
  • Tasks navigation, task capture, project rows and logged items have refreshed layouts and icons. Collection titles have matching spacing below the content header.
  • Agent data exports from Help include run traces when available, allowing support to inspect them without signing in to your account.
  • If traces cannot be included, the export still completes and contains an explanation.
  • To-do checkboxes in documents have a thinner outline and a tick that matches the rest of the app.
  • Devices in Settings has its own device icon instead of the Agent icon.
  • Upload from computer in the chat attachment menu shows a computer icon instead of an upload arrow.
  • Turning off Help improve Any stops usage reporting and deletes its device identifier.
  • Connector key status appears directly below its input field.
  • Declared key destinations appear beneath the status. For built-in connectors without declared destinations, that fact appears in the Connection card under Advanced; credential notes can still appear by the field.
  • Relation-limit changes support Undo and Redo and do not remove existing values outside the limit. If none of the selected collections can be resolved in the space, the limit is inactive.
  • Open task cards have more consistent padding around notes and controls.
  • Project rows show clearer remaining-task counts, and logged-item controls have refreshed styling.
  • Area, Notes and Computer icons have refreshed artwork.
  • Collection right-click menus add Copy link and use clearer movement icons. Change icon, Remove icon and Rename leave this menu and remain available from the open collection's header.
  • Clickable icons in collection and Tasks area headers highlight on hover and stay highlighted while their icon picker is open.
  • Collection-chip moves preview their new positions, respect reduced motion and report failed saves instead of leaving a move pending indefinitely.
  • Playable embed previews show a Play mark, and clicking the picture loads the embed.
  • Embed cards reserve space while fetching a preview and show “Getting preview…” after a second. If no picture arrives, the reserved space collapses.
  • Tasks lists are grouped — Upcoming by day, then by range and month; Anytime by area; areas into Projects, Tasks and Logged items.
  • Tasks search lives in the content-header corner. ⌘F or Ctrl+F focuses it, and Escape clears it.
  • Task rows show plan and deadline icons and their parent's icon. A deadline turns red on its due day.
  • The Tasks page title scrolls with the list, so more tasks fit on screen.
  • Small checkboxes in the app use refreshed outline and tick artwork.
  • You can start a block-selection drag from the blank area below a page.
  • When editor sections are stacked, clicking below the last editor places the cursor in that section. Embedded editors and pages ending in a records list keep their existing behavior.
  • Opening a handle menu within a multiblock selection lets Copy copy the whole selected group.
  • Backspace and Delete at column edges move the cursor without merging columns. Removing an empty column dissolves the layout if only one column remains.
  • App sidebar headers (Wiki, Journal, Tasks, Collections and others) use a slightly smaller title, matching the design system.
  • Date and project pickers open aligned to their button.
  • Closing a titled task draft with Escape or a click outside saves it. If saving fails, the card keeps your text and offers Retry.
  • Objects have one type and can belong to multiple collections. This release requires new accounts and spaces: existing accounts are not migrated, and older builds cannot open accounts used by this version.
  • Space invites and direct-chat requests appear together in age order. Accepting a space invite opens the space; declining removes the request.
  • Direct-chat identity sharing prevents local client requests from reading the private keys used to resolve participant profiles.
  • Attaching a file finishes once it is stored locally, without waiting for network backup. Backup continues in the background.
  • Files attached offline can back up on the next online start.
  • Nearby devices can fetch an attached file before its network backup finishes.
  • Files with identical content share one upload, and deleting a file cancels its pending upload.
  • Creating a listed mailbox also installs the space's Collections app so the mailbox has a navigation entry point.
  • Long email reply chains retain their text while limiting nested quoting to five levels, avoiding oversized imported messages.
  • Connector credentials can only be sent to their declared destination hosts.
  • Credential cards for agent-created tools show allowed destinations and an unreviewed-tool warning.
  • When you offer a key for an available connector, Bao prompts through a secure credential-entry card rather than asking you to paste it into chat. Keys without a matching tool are entered in Credentials.
  • Simulation summaries distinguish simulated, live and mixed actions and identify changes that were not actually made.
  • Bao can name the device answering chat and guide you to Settings → Agent → Devices to switch it, without taking over automatically.
  • Bao explains that switching back between devices within seconds can cause a message to receive two replies.
  • Bao manages collections separately from an object's type, including creating collections, editing their properties and filing or removing objects.
  • Custom object types created by Bao include an editable document body unless intended only for stored data. Existing incomplete type definitions can have that body restored.
  • Agent programs and skills are no longer marked hidden in object listings.

Fixed

  • Wiki's New folder button now shows the correctly sized folder icon.
  • Chat headers display the space's own icon.
  • Switching views no longer briefly flashes “Loading view…” beneath an already visible header.
  • Global search returns results across spaces again.
  • Search filters narrow the returned matches using the object each result belongs to.
  • Message searches use the chat search scope.
  • Record search results no longer display their parent object's date as their own.
  • The agent chat header says “Agent” and shows the agent icon, matching its tab and sidebar entry.
  • Adding the agent chat to Favorites uses the name “Agent” rather than its internal space name.
  • Dragging past the end of the Collections list no longer creates extra scroll space or pushes rows out of view. Long lists still scroll during dragging, and outside drops cancel.
  • Screen readers can identify the relation picker as “Object picker” and its results as “Matching objects”.
  • The relation picker's no-results message no longer has invalid list semantics.
  • The object link picker no longer cuts a result row in half at its height limit.
  • Agent data exports read diagnostic attachments from the agent's configured storage location.
  • Terms of Use and Privacy Policy on the sign-in screen open in your browser without taking you away from the app.
  • Unselected collection chips stay visually distinct on hover instead of looking selected.
  • An open Journal entry now updates live when the same day's entry is edited elsewhere, instead of requiring you to close and reopen it.
  • Tags and linked objects that wrap onto several lines now line up evenly beside the property name, with no empty gap under the last value, and the row no longer jumps when you click into it.
  • Journal reuses a space's existing entry type instead of making its calendar appear empty or creating duplicate entries for the same day.
  • The AI assistant could stay unavailable after opening the app even once it had finished starting up.
  • Task creation, project and area creation, and task edits no longer get stuck in a saving state after a failed save.
  • After logging out, Create a new account creates a fresh account instead of reopening the previous one. You can also sign in to another compatible account.
  • An incorrect or mismatched recovery phrase shows a clear explanation instead of a server error.
  • Logging out or opening a different account clears the previous account's navigation and live data. Bao stops at logout and starts again after sign-in.
  • A collection you delete no longer lingers — it disappears from the objects that were in it, and its page no longer opens from an old link, tab or Back.
  • Editing Bao's Soul for the first time no longer fails with "Soul could not be copied".
  • The desktop app no longer inherits unrelated computer-wide configuration files that could silently change its network and prevent joining spaces.
  • Opening a space in a navigation tab no longer leaves its content card empty.
  • Clicking empty space in the sidebar header next to your name no longer opens Settings — only the highlighted name does.
  • The calendar in a task's Plan and Deadline pickers no longer spills past the edge of its popup.
  • A YouTube embed in the desktop app on macOS and Linux no longer shows an Unload button over YouTube's own player error — it says the content can't play here and leaves Open source as the way to watch it.
  • Switching between Select and Multiselect preserves existing choices in lists and new-object drafts, including a count of retained extra choices in single-select mode.
  • Reselecting the first value in single-select mode now narrows retained choices. Simply opening and closing the picker leaves them unchanged.
  • Creating and selecting a replacement option uses one Undo step. Mode changes remain undoable, but narrowing retained multiple values cannot be undone while single-select mode remains active.
  • Escape closes a popup and its open hint together, instead of requiring a second press.
  • Opening a popup no longer automatically displays a hint over its first control.
  • Adding an existing object to the Wiki no longer brings in folders you didn't choose — the object goes exactly where you add it.
  • Removing a folder's last page no longer removes the folder.
  • Opening Journal no longer leaves an empty entry for today.
  • Clicking a divider to hide or show a panel no longer leaves a plain line standing until something else is clicked.
  • Switching a collection's saved view no longer flashes the previous view's rows before settling.
  • Unread message counters again appear and update in the sidebar for Direct chats and spaces.
  • Bao receives updates from chats created with the current chat model, including chats outside the active space.
  • Creation date and Last modified date follow your synced time-format preferences, including per-column overrides, instead of outdated device-only settings.
  • Chat mute settings are shared across your devices and respected by push notifications, rather than only hiding a local badge.
  • Hover and selection highlights on nested sidebar and Wiki tree rows now start at the row's indent instead of spanning the full width.
  • Favorite mini-apps open their app view rather than an ordinary object page.
  • Copy link to block now works from list items: ⌘⌃L on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+L on Linux.
  • Pressing Escape on a block's menu no longer moves the cursor to the top of the page. The block stays selected, so ⌘D, Delete and typing act on it; press Escape again to clear the selection.
  • Pressing Escape outside the editor no longer clears a block selection.
  • Closing a block menu opened from a nested editor returns focus to the document containing the selected block.
  • Block menu actions such as Copy link and Download no longer leave a stray text cursor at the top of the page.
  • Duplicate works while a block's handle menu is open: press ⌘D on macOS or Ctrl+D on Linux.
  • Copy link to block works while the block menu is open: press ⌘⌃L on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+L on Linux.
  • Opening the desktop app while signed in no longer flashes the sign-in screen before your spaces appear.
  • If the app can't read your saved recovery phrase at launch, it now shows the sign-in screen once instead of flickering while it retries.
  • On macOS, pressing a block's visible drag handle no longer sometimes starts a box selection instead of the intended handle interaction.
  • After you drag a block past your text cursor, the cursor stays in its text instead of jumping below the dropped block as a tall bar.
  • The sign-in artwork no longer blinks out and fades back in when you start signing in, when a sign-in fails, or when you retry after a connection error. It now moves smoothly between screens.
  • Pressing Escape after resizing a picture with the keyboard no longer jumps to the top of the page or types your next keystroke into the first line of the document.
  • On macOS, releasing a table row or column drag no longer sometimes cancels the move.
  • On macOS, releasing a box selection of blocks no longer sometimes clears the selection.
  • Typing while a picture, file or page card is selected with the arrow keys no longer adds text to the start of the page or shows a caret there.
  • The desktop app's window can now be moved from the sign-in screens — drag the top of the window, the illustration, or the empty edges of the sign-in card.
  • Dragging text blocks while the editor is unfocused places the cursor at the end of the last moved block, rather than the first line of the page.
  • Dragging a card or synced block from outside editor focus leaves that block selected. Dropping into a synced block selects its containing block.
  • After moving a divider from outside editor focus, the cursor lands at the start of the next non-divider block.
  • Undoing these moves restores the blocks with an appropriate selection instead of sending subsequent typing to the page's start.
  • Bao's status dot shows where it answers chat: green on this device, blue on another device, and grey when none answers. It remains visible while Bao is offline.
  • A direct chat's settings page no longer stays on “Syncing…” after the chat has synced with the other person.
  • In the desktop app, typing over blocks you selected by dragging in the page margin now replaces them. The typed keys used to do nothing.
  • In the desktop app, right-clicking a block's text opens the block menu. Before, it showed the text formatting toolbar or nothing. Right-clicking text you already selected still shows the formatting toolbar.
  • Task checkboxes no longer highlight independently on hover, and opening a task no longer shifts its title.
  • The status bar no longer counts failed actions — a file that wouldn't download, a page that wouldn't be created — as sync issues.
  • A failed document-save warning clears from the status bar once that document saves successfully, rather than remaining until restart.
  • Connectors lists a connector under Connected once its key or connection is set — built-in ones included — and everything else under Library.
  • The desktop app no longer reports spurious errors when completed network requests are cleaned up.
  • Tasks no longer shifts the task list away from the page title when the panel is hidden on a wide window.
  • After you release a click in the editor's empty area below the last block, the text cursor becomes visible at the document's end.
  • Copy and Download on Settings → Login key now work without revealing the key first, and Download saves the file on desktop instead of doing nothing.
  • On macOS, recovery-key backups and editor file downloads are no longer silently cancelled by the desktop window. This does not fix the separate media-download connection issue.
  • Unavailable Login key actions no longer highlight on hover as though they were enabled.
  • A table column fitted to a short first row no longer stays that narrow — reopening the table fits it to the rows again, up to its default width.
  • A fitted Name column no longer cuts the name when the row's open / rename button appears on hover.
  • On the desktop app's "Something went wrong" screen, dragging an empty area moves the window again.
  • Clicking a callout's icon opens the icon picker again, so an icon can be changed after the callout has text.
  • Copying blocks that include an object-link card or a divider now pastes into another object instead of pasting nothing.
  • After converting a block, including changing heading levels, the text cursor stays one line tall instead of stretching across the whole block.
  • Non-playable desktop previews, including YouTube on macOS and Linux and Figma, display as plain images without a misleading Play mark or hover action.
  • Spotify embed artwork is no longer cropped to a thin strip.
  • Members who can only read a space no longer see Add to collection or Remove from collection on a page's collection chips.
  • A Wiki tab no longer highlights the page you opened in another tab — each tab lights only its own page.
  • Clicking the blank pane area or bottom padding beneath a page's editor now focuses it at the document's end, including in Wiki, Collections and Side peek.
  • Copy (⌘C) and cut (⌘X) now work on a block selected with its six-dot handle while the block menu is open.
  • Cutting selected blocks (⌘X) now puts the same text on the clipboard as copying them, so list markers, checkboxes and formatting survive a paste into another app.
  • Cutting a selected list item that has indented items under it now removes them instead of doing nothing.
  • Cutting a selected synced original moves the original rather than leaving a reference to the block being removed.
  • Cutting selected text (⌘X) now puts the same text on the clipboard as copying it, so list markers, checkboxes and formatting survive a paste into another app.
  • Cutting a text selection in a document containing a table gets its own Undo step.
  • Right-clicking Favorites opens their menu again, including Rename and Move actions.
  • Opening collections, including from links, reloads or Favorites, shows their tables instead of redirecting to chat or opening a definition.
  • Pages created in Wiki appear in its tree again.
  • Collection chips, Archive labels and property names display correctly. Editing collection properties, undoing property renames and adding select options work again.
  • Saved views and collection tables display their rows again.
  • Collection tables, tabs and breadcrumbs show the collection name, with Favorites and Delete actions restored.
  • The create dialog lists the space's collections and numbers new rows against existing ones.
  • Collections created or deleted by another person update in the sidebar without reopening the space.
  • Bao's built-in tools and connectors use content compatible with the new account and collection model.
  • Collections without saved-view setup no longer stay on a loading placeholder. They create an All view and let you add further views.
  • When someone adds you to a space, it now appears under Requests in the sidebar so you can accept or decline it. Previously there was no way to join a space you were added to.
  • Accounts remember their sync network and refuse to open on a different one, preventing confusing failures after sign-in.
  • Contacts layout settings can be saved after setup, including when repairing an already-installed Contacts app.
  • Loading an object no longer risks freezing updates and other operations throughout its space until the app restarts.
  • Both participants' names resolve after accepting a direct chat, even without another shared space.
  • Failed local-search initialization releases its resources, avoiding repeated model downloads and blocked retries.
  • Direct-chat peer names resolve more reliably when their identity information arrives through another shared connection.
  • Reduced the risk of a local search-model download being corrupted or unnecessarily restarted when you log out or change accounts.
  • Cancelling an interrupted model download preserves its partial file for resuming, and invalid download settings no longer start an abandoned download.
  • Mailboxes created by Gmail sync are no longer hidden from object listings.
  • Bao startup no longer waits indefinitely for an unresponsive service, allowing a failure to be reported and the app's startup retry to proceed.
  • Bao can reuse and update existing custom object types whose names overlap reserved fields, instead of refusing them as though they were newly created.
  • Bao's diagnostic storage no longer depends on which folder the app was launched from.
  • Bao reports an unavailable diagnostic-storage location at startup instead of silently failing to save attachments later.
  • Gmail sync handles deeply nested email formatting without failing the message conversion. If conversion still exceeds its nesting limit, the message falls back to plain text.
  • One unprocessable email no longer stops Gmail sync; other messages continue syncing.
  • A completed connector sign-in no longer briefly reports that authorization is still pending.
  • Agent tools cannot forge secure credential-entry cards.
  • A failed credential request cannot overwrite an existing key's saved destination restrictions.
  • Bao sees a short quote of the message you reply to, including who sent it, and recognizes when the original message was deleted or cannot be found.
  • If a Bao reply needs agent code that is still syncing and has made no changes, Bao shows a waiting message and defers it for one retry instead of losing your message. Waiting for missing code is limited to ten minutes.
