Editor: Changing the color and background color from the pop-up menu doesn't work

Also, there's no option to choose and change the color of the text or its background from the "/" menu.

On my side, currently I do not even see the two colors formatting buttons in the pop-up menu. I guess they are still disabled.

Yes. We need to add this functionality on the infra end before we can hook it up on the product end. Thanks for creating this issue.
