Notification Indicator on the sidebar is not accurate

It's not entirely consistent with how it works. For instance, as it can be seen from this image I have read the message which was replied to me but the "@" indicator from the sidebar remains. I tried switching between tabs which were on different spaces but it didn't change.

I haven't figured out the exact pattern yet but the notification counter on the sidebar is not totally indicative of the actual unread or replied messages across spaces.
