Notification toast to open Archive upon deletion
It's difficult to find the archive/bin. Whenever something is put inside the archive, a notification toast should appear with:
[Name] has been moved to the archive — Undo, View

·3 days agoThanks for the suggestion! To help us understand how to prioritize this, could you share a bit more about your workflow?
Specifically: How often do you need to access the archive, and what's the typical use case when you do? (For example, are you recovering recently deleted items, browsing what's been removed, or something else?) That'll help us think through whether showing it automatically after a deletion is the right fit, or if there's another way to make it more accessible that'd work better for your setup.
Originally we had Archive as a mini app. But given the nature of the new sidebar is quite different, we thought it made things quite cluttered—especially if you have a lot of spaces and mini apps. That's why we hid it in the space menu. Given these circumstances, do you still feel the same way?
Thanks for the explanation Kaye. I get the potential cluttering issue.
What I feel is a bit lacking is the UI feedback about the state of the archive. For example, yesterday I remembered to check it and found it was full. I had almost forgotten there was even an archive.
Maybe there could be a compromise solution. When you delete an object, you get a notification toast in the bottom right corner. Maybe adding an "open archive" button to the notification could act both as a reminder and as a shortcut, without cluttering the sidebar.
OK, I will edit this post.
