Chat search

Need to be able to search messages in the chat, not as part of the general search.

Before asking or posting something to community chats I always search the chat history, but can't find chat messages in Anytwo search, nor a specific search feature for chats.

What I tried:
- pressing ^F and ^K with chat focused
- magnifier button on right sidebar

It doesn't make a difference. I can pick any random word from any chat message (old or new), use it to search and no chat message would appear in search results. If a dedicated search button for chat is present, I can't find it.

Just realized I opened this as a bug when in fact it's more of a feature request for something I miss from Anytype.

It's not developed yet. As we've mentioned, if something doesn't exist (especially beyond the editor), it's much more likely that it just hasn't been implemented yet. It's not a bug, I've edited the post.

Thanks for reporting this, Ygor.

A couple of clarifications to help us understand the scope:

  1. When you search in the app, are you using the main search bar at the top, or is there a dedicated chat search you're looking for? And when you search, what results come back — nothing, or results from other areas (workspaces, docs) but not chats?
  2. How far back are you typically searching — recent messages, or older conversations from weeks/months ago?

This will help us pin down whether it's a search indexing gap, a visibility issue, or something else.

@Alex Lins another example of Bao being a bit silly. Lol.
