Task as subtask for other task [Streamline Tasks]

A task could be big or small and 1 big task could be made smaller sub tasks. Like,

I created a task "Create Authentication for my app"

Then when I wanted to do that task, I discovered that the authentication is a lot bigger task that I can handle in a single go. So, I would want to create "Setup Email and Password database", "Write logic for the Authentication".

These two task would be a subtask to the original task.

Requested feature

  1. A task can have a parent task and a child task. (Making it work as a subtasks)
  2. Task's content/body should show its subtasks.

Thanks for the detailed request, Alaz! This is a clear feature idea — nested tasks are something we hear about often.

A couple of quick clarifications would help us understand the priority:

  1. Scope of nesting — do you need just one level (parent → children), or would you want to nest deeper (grandparent → parent → children)? And can a subtask belong to multiple parents, or just one?
  2. Your workflow — when you're working on the parent task, are you mostly wanting to see the subtasks listed for reference, or do you need to track progress (like "3 of 5 subtasks done")? That shapes how we'd build it.
  3. Current workaround — are you handling this today by linking tasks manually, or just managing it outside the app?

  1. Yes "3 of 5 subtasks done" is how it should be.
