Please bring back the modal view of an object

Thanks for the suggestion. To help us understand the use case better: when you shift+click an object in your current workflow, what are you trying to accomplish — are you previewing it before opening it fully, checking a specific field without leaving the current view, or something else? And how often do you find yourself needing that quick peek versus a full object open?
