Nightly

Any Desktop v0.1.6-nightly.20261002.3

New

  • Code blocks in chat messages are syntax-highlighted, show their language, wrap long lines, and have a Copy button.
  • Right-click a link in Chat Details and choose Go to message to return to its source, including older messages.
  • On a space's Members screen, click a person's name to copy their ID or start or reopen a direct chat. Messaging is hidden on your own row and in agent-owned spaces.
  • Create a table at your chosen size directly from the slash menu: /Table 10x2 creates 10 rows and two columns.
  • Custom table sizes include the header row and support up to 1,000 cells.
  • A macOS preference to keep fullscreen when pressing Esc, while still closing search, menus, and dialogs.
  • Start a code block by typing three backticks with an optional language, such as text, md, or sh, then pressing Shift+Enter.
  • On full-page views opened from a collection or type, switch pages from the breadcrumb with search and keyboard navigation.
  • Create and link missing objects directly from relation fields.
  • Create from relation fields in object headers or collection tables, choosing a destination inline when needed. Existing values in multi-value relations are kept.
  • Type  or start a shortcode to insert emoji in chats and text blocks.
  • Collections folders can hold folders (two levels), with New folder inside and Move to on a folder row, and folder paths in a collection's Move to.
  • Open another window with ⌘⇧N (Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows and Linux); each window keeps its own tabs.
  • Move a tab to its own window from the tab's menu, or drag it out of the tab bar.

Improved

  • Favorites rows for mini apps and types now show the space's name after the app's name, so identical names from different spaces can be told apart.
  • In Favorites, a space's general chat is now labeled Chat once the space has loaded.
  • Screen readers announce both the app or type name and its space in Favorites.
  • Code blocks recognise more languages and spellings, including console sessions, Batch, CSV, HTTP, .env, jsonc, pwsh and Postgres/MySQL SQL.
  • Code blocks also gain highlighting, language labels, line wrapping and Copy in page previews, mail, applet readmes, bookmarks and meetings.
  • The editor's language picker now includes Shell Session, Batch, CSV, HTTP, Regex, Log, .env, Properties, CMake, Gradle and .gitignore.
  • When received changes conflict with your edits to the same block, the saved page keeps your version followed by the other version.
  • Open pages use less memory when receiving edits from another device or the assistant.
  • Unchanged sections stay in place during incoming updates where possible, reducing full-page redraws and keeping the cursor and scroll position steadier.
  • Dragging across the sidebar, tabs or headers no longer paints a text selection, and labels no longer show a text cursor. Messages, page bodies, table values and other content stay selectable.
  • Dragging an avatar or icon no longer creates a ghost image.
  • Blocked macOS updates skip the download. Got it hides the move notice for the session; checking for updates manually shows it again.
  • On macOS, clicking a chat notification brings Any forward before opening the chat.
  • Search in Chat Details finds links by their labels or URLs.
  • Members rows highlight on hover and stay highlighted while their menu is open.
  • The divider under the Members table header has been removed.
  • The new tab opens with the page title ready to edit, while the original tab keeps its view. If needed, creation uses a writable space.
  • Any checks for desktop updates every five minutes while signed in, so new releases are offered sooner.
  • Keyboard shortcut help opens with Ctrl+Space.
  • Recents in the Library opens on the most recently edited items.
  • Recently edited now appears first in the Recents sorting menu.
  • Hover over the current page breadcrumb to browse without moving editor focus, or click it or press Enter to search.
  • If linking a newly created item fails, retrying while the relation picker stays open reuses that item instead of creating a duplicate.
  • Favorites folder nesting is limited to two levels: a parent folder and folders inside it.
  • Reduced unnecessary background network requests for attachments in Bao chats that aren't open in a view or tab.
  • The Window menu lists each window by the page it shows.
  • Tab moves between windows wait for pending saves and chat sends, keep the source tab if the move fails, and clear its draft after a chat moves successfully.
  • App-menu Quit and updates wait for every window to save; blocked updates show a message instead of hanging. Frozen or crashed windows can still be closed.
  • Links, notification clicks and assistant navigation go to one window; window-menu and close actions affect only their intended window.
  • New windows show the current Bao state. Device-wide preferences and sign-in or sign-out changes stay in sync across windows.
  • On macOS, separate app instances use separate local storage. An existing second instance's locally saved settings reset once.

Fixed

  • The Favorites row menu no longer starts with a stray divider line.
  • Delete tasks, projects and areas from row menus or by pressing Delete or Backspace on a focused row. Deleting a selected row applies to the whole selection.
  • Open project and area pages now offer Delete in the page menu.
  • Deletion asks for confirmation and sends items to the space Archive. Deleting a project or area also archives its contents; Undo or the Archive can restore them.
  • Deleting the project or area you are viewing returns Tasks to Today.
  • Document undo history now keeps up to 100 steps to limit memory use; further Undo actions fall back to app-level undo.
  • Chats that aren't being viewed retain only their newest 200 messages in memory after updates. Older messages remain available when you scroll back.
  • A disabled primary button's label stays white in the Dim and Dark themes instead of turning dark.
  • A disabled secondary button uses the same grey as the other disabled buttons.
  • Saving a page now preserves changes already received from another device or the assistant while you type.
  • Updates from another device or the assistant no longer trigger movement animations in neighboring blocks.
  • Jumping to an unread reaction in a chat now shows the reaction and clears the reactions badge.
  • On macOS, a two-finger swipe past an edge no longer slides the whole app within its window.
  • Hiding a column in the Library's Recent view now hides it.
  • On macOS, when Any runs from a location it cannot update itself in (opened from Downloads or straight from the disk image), the update prompt now asks you to move Any to Applications instead of failing on every retry.
  • Attaching a large file to a chat message no longer freezes the desktop app while it uploads.
  • Large uploads in Files and image uploads in pages also keep the desktop app responsive.
  • On Windows, clicking a chat notification while Any is running opens its chat and brings Any forward, or flashes its taskbar button if Windows blocks focus.
  • A chat notification is removed from the notification center once you read the chat elsewhere.
  • On Linux, chat notifications now open their chat while Any is running, either by clicking the notification or using an Open button on some systems.
  • Favorites folders can be nested inside other folders again, by dragging or with Move to.
  • Copy link to block now appears for a paragraph whose link name has an unmatched bracket, such as “Draft] v2”.
  • Links whose names contain unmatched brackets now display correctly in table cells.
  • Chat Details now lists web and internal links from message text, including Bao replies, grouped by date. Reposted links keep separate entries.
  • Middle-clicking New object creates a blank page in a new tab.
  • Account icons now display the complete emoji when your name starts with one.
  • Clicking away from a rendered diagram or equation now hides its source and toolbar; using its toolbar or language picker keeps editing open.
  • Ctrl+/ opens the current block's actions with Turn into focused so you can change its type. Cmd+/ also works on macOS.
  • YouTube playlist links can now be embedded in pages.
  • YouTube embeds keep their player and playback position when switching between navigation tabs.
  • Find heading commands with /h1 through /h4, and YouTube with /yt.
  • Line breaks within lists stay in their original item after saving and reloading.
  • Inline-code styling on table formulas now fits the calculated result without leaving a blank highlighted area.
  • A selected table no longer paints its highlight across the whole editor width; the band stays inside the page column, or follows the table when it is wider.
  • On macOS, a page link on its own line no longer shows an empty line underneath, and clicking below it no longer turns it into an inline link when you type.
  • On macOS, lone files and pictures no longer leave an empty line underneath.
  • After Enter or Shift+Enter, inserting an emoji, dictated text or text from a text expander no longer moves the cursor into the next block.
  • Chats no longer jump when reopened with unavailable image attachments.
  • Unavailable images are retried in the background when you revisit the chat, and return as images only after they load successfully with known dimensions.
  • JavaScript, HTML and diff code blocks using alternate language names now highlight correctly after the same language was viewed in chat first.
  • Bold, italic or struck-through inline code that holds a dollar sign, like $HOME, stays code when a dollar sign comes before it on the same line. Part of the line no longer turns into a formula when you reopen the page.
  • The name field of a new inner folder takes focus after its menu closes.
  • Opening a task, or another item whose format has no text body, no longer shows an editor that silently throws away what you type — the body is read-only, and the title and properties stay editable.
  • Creating skills or custom connectors now ensures their text bodies can be edited and saved, including when an existing format needs repair.
  • When the wiki or CRM roles were set up on two devices offline, their pages no longer drop out of the wiki or role lists after the devices sync.
  • When duplicate Wiki or CRM role setups are merged after syncing, their items keep their property values.
  • Editing a custom connector's description, base URL or credential reference no longer briefly shows the old value after saving.
  • Property reorder handles stay visible on devices that do not support hover.
  • A page containing an out-of-range character code such as now opens instead of failing to load.
